Welcome to EyeConic

Worldwide multicenter ocular imaging study to identify patients eligible for cone-based optogenetics therapy

The EyeConic Study is a global, multicenter clinical research initiative focused on identifying blind patients who could benefit from a cone-targeted optogenetics vision restoration approach. In collaboration with 11 leading centers worldwide, the study examines foveal preservation in patients with inherited retinal diseases (IRD) using advanced ocular imaging techniques and machine-learning algorithms. Initial findings indicate that approximately two-thirds of these patients retain preserved foveal regions, making them potential candidates for novel therapies targeting cone photoreceptors. This website provides medical doctors and scientists with insights into the latest advancements of the EyeConic study.
